The 40th anniversary of the Republic festival of folklore dances and songs “Ilindenski denovi” will be held under the sponsorship of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia, from July 29th till August 1st 2010 in Bitola.
The vice president of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia, Mrs. Svetlana Jakimovska will officially open the festival.
The festival is the only scene in Macedonia which nourishes and presents the original national tradition represented through the national folk-dances, songs, customs, traditional costumes, and is sort of a bridge connecting the centuries-long tradition with today.
In the festival program there will be participation of thirty to forty cultural and artistic associations, folklore groups and ensembles from all the ethno regions of the Republic of Macedonia, as well as groups of the nationalities living in Macedonia.
