Center for development of Pelagonia region began with realization of the project decentralization cooperation between the region of Lower Normandy and Republic of Macedonia. One of the main goals of this workshop is defining strategically directions and activities for cultural development.
Held in Bitola, from 4th till 7th of April, the first workshop of this project was introduced as “Analyses and strategically planning for cultural development of the Pelagonia region”. The three day workshop will involve people directly implied at this cultural sector in the region, such as artists, directors of the cultural institutions of the region, and representatives of the cultural sector of the local self government.
Lecturer were: Mrs. Marija Cvetkovic (Serbia), Mr. Pier Shmith, Director of the regional center for ethnology and ethnographic technique of the region Lower Normandy, Mrs. Cveta Andreeva (Bulgaria), Biljana Prentovska from the Ministry of culture in RM, and Mr. Remi Privat – Consultant of the vice-prime minister for European questions in RM.
At the first day the participants were able to analyze the conditions and the necessities for cultural development of the Pelagonia region, defining the concept for vision, mission, and goals. The second day was to define the vision for cultural development of the region, long term and short term goals, where the third day was reserved for accomplishing the logo, theme, web site at the first part, and lecture given by Mrs. Cveta Andreeva “Sources for financing the regional cooperation” at the second part of the day. The fourth day was reserved for Mr Remi Privat and his presentation “Process of European integration and IPA funds – possibilities in the culture”.
This project is supported by the region of Lower Normandy, French Ministry for external affairs, and Association for agency of local democracy.
