On July 14th 2012, Center for Development of Pelagonia region presented the donation of 56 hydrants intended mainly for settlements in the municipality of Prilep and other rural communities that gravitate around Priep.Director of the Center for Development of Pelagonia region Mrs. Emilia Geroska said that Pelagonia region will be the first region in the Republic of Macedonia which will have completely built hydrant network thanks to the Embassy of Japan.
Mayor of Prilep, Mr. Marjan Risteski, noted that this project is working in close cooperation with the TPPE where very precisely mapped potential risk settlements in this micro-region in terms of the need for hydrants that enable them to save time re-charging vehicles in disgust with the village and even more forest fires. Commander of TPPE Stanko Koleski emphasizes the double benefit of setting hydrants in populated areas to improve efficiency in dealing with the firestorm. Setting hydrants will save both time and finances. No fuel costs for returning vehicle TPPE but complement each spot. That is a great contribution to our work, said the commander. According to the director of PP ‘Vodovod’ (Water and sewage system) Saso Nikoloski, assembling the donated hydrants will begin on Monday, and the procedure of installation will be completed in about 10 days.
