The process of reconstruction of Bitola ZOO and realization of the technical documentation for its complete reconstruction had a successful start. At the official ceremony on July 23rd, 2012 at the fully renovated and equipped children’s park an activity helped and sponsored by the Association of Pensioners of Bitola took place. Therefore, the ZOO itself introduced a new content designed especially for the youngest visitors. The Children’s Park is located in the central part of the ZOO within an area of 530 m2 and grass surface with natural shadows of existing high foliage.
The park was conceived and built as a corner with open playground, entertainment and education for the children visitors to the ZOO.The park is equipped with attractive animation tools (toys) that offer various forms of learning difficulties and increasing of the physical and mental abilities of the young population. Despite the different types of swings and carousels, steps with houses, bridges, slides, alpine and vertical ladder. Also, in the central part of the park there is a sand pool and its northwestern side is left open for educational installations.
According to the technical documentation for a complete reconstruction of the ZOO in Bitola, near the children’s amusement park provided premises, open and closed terraces and a restaurant where the adult can rest. During the opening ceremony, the management of the ZOO informed the public of the Pelagonia region that they will start with the reconstruction of the hippo settlement, which is another activity directed towards the realization of the technical documentation for a complete reconstruction of the ZOO in Bitola. Members of the volunteer service in Bitola ZOO informed the present visitors that starting from July 23rd, 2012 (Monday) begins the event called ZOOlympic, which in the spirit of the Olympic games will animate, educate and encourage children and their parents to practice sport and healthy lifestyle.
