In the framework of the project “Innovative educational programmes enhancing the environmental resources of the cross-border region Pelagonija/Florina – Zoo Innovative”, a 2-day study visit for the project staff and ZOO Bitola volunteers took place on October 7 – 8, 2013. The Zoo Ljubljana staff warmly welcomed the 10 participants and provided a productive visit. Among touring the ZOO and learning of its history and daily work tasks, the Bitola volunteers worked hands on with the Ljubljana volunteers and learned how to provide higher quality educated visits in the Zoo Garden Bitola.
The successful educational programs which are implemented at the ZOO were discussed in detail as well. The benefit of being an EAZA member and the opportunity for exchanges from Zoo’s around the world was also introduced. All participants left with new ideas and energy which will be put into practice at ZOO Garden Bitola.
