On October 30th and November 1st 2011, the third business meeting for the working group formed for the needs of the project ‘Making of the technical documentation for complete reconstruction of the ZOO in Bitola’ was held. This time, in the working group, two representatives from the European Association for ZOO and Aquaria EAZA were involved, which gave their contribution to the making of the technical documentation with their modern and European standards.
The representatives from EAZA were Mr. Marjo Hoedermarker, Director of the ZOO in Amersfoort, Netherlands and Mrs. Davorka Maljovik, Director of the ZOO in Zagreb, Croatia.The members of the working group and the experts from EAZA took a look of the current situation in the ZOO, analyzed the potentials and evaluated the dwellings their setting, as well as the remaining infrastructure which will be the new look of the ZOO. The experts gave their general notes, focus and suggestions which will be included to the technical documentation. Having in mind all this, the ZOO in Bitola in the process of reconstruction will have a look, functionality, and management on the level of all European standards and will satisfy the laws and regulations of EU for keeping animals in captivity.
