Constituted in 1956, the Macedonian theater festival “Vojdan Cernodrinski” continuously hosts the best theater/drama realizations from the entire Macedonian theater production, created based on world drama acts, and especially affirming the Macedonian drama creations.
This year MTF is held from June 5th until June 10th and was opened as 45th anniversary , with the play “Fist full of love” and with the lifework awards to the actors Ratka Corevska, Mite Grozdanov and Cedo Hristov. The festival was officially opened by the deputy Minister of culture of the Republic of Macedonia Dragan Nedeljkovik, and also there were public speeches by the festival director Petar Temelkovski and the mayor of Prilep Marjan Risteski. The official opening was preceded by the opening of the exhibition of the academic sculptor Zarko Baseski in the gallery of art and the exhibition of paintings by the art colony De Niro from Bitola.
The festival has a competitive character in its’ official program and is of special state interest, and the only one of the kind financed by the Ministry of culture of the Republic of Macedonia and the local self-government, and by the donations and sponsorships.
